Volunteer Training Project
In October 2009 the Citadel Youth Centre received a grant from the Voluntary Action Fund to set up a project training some of our current volunteers to become trainers.
Since then, a group has been working hard to develop an induction training course aimed at people who have never volunteered before or have no experience of youth work. Our first Volunteer Induction Training took place in April and was a great success. So if you've been looking for something that will ease you into volunteering or offer you support to volunteer this may suit you down to the ground!
We run our Volunteer Induction Training at the start of each term and we will be interviewing interested people from now until then. So, if you like the sound of it, download an volunteer application form from our website or give us a phone.
The training has been developed by two of our volunteers, Kevin and Sarah. They have both been volunteering with us for a number of years and are able to pass on all their stories and top tips for volunteering.
The training will include:
- An introduction to the Citadel, both youth clubs and the whole service
- Your questions about volunteering answered
- Ideas for games and activities
